Job Description
As a Lead Engineer (electrical bias) for a leading food manufacturer, you will be responsible for managing engineers, leading projects, and providing PPM and OEE support at the company's Trafford Park manufacturing site.
Our client is an established manufacturer of authentic global foods catering to hospitality, retail, food service, and wholesale sectors.
This challenging role requires a time-served or apprentice-trained engineer with previous experience in a fast-paced environment. The business has multiple CapEX projects planned; therefore, previous project leadership experience is essential. The site is AA BRC rated; candidates must have experience working within a highly regulated and audited environment.
Your responsibilities as Lead Electrical Engineer will include:
* Acting as the Engineering Shift Team CMMS Supervisor; supporting system implementation and control across phases, and training users to the correct standard.
* Managing the engineering shift team, including 2 direct reports, to ensure maximum availability of all production plant and support equipment.
* Implementing initiatives that reduce costs, improve OEE, and minimize waste.
* Ensuring the engineering team operates to maximize machine uptime, planned maintenance, health and safety, quality, hygiene, and budget adherence.
Your Profile:
* Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship (Electrical or Multi-skilled) - ONC or BTEC equivalent; HNC desirable, with demonstrable electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
* Proven leadership and team management experience.
* Experience managing contractors and issuing permit-to-work procedures.
* Proficiency in using maintenance management software (CMMS).
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
