Job overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Information Analyst to play a pivotal role in the development of information management and reporting for our HM Prison Birmingham Healthcare Team. You will need to be an excellent communicator who can lead informatics projects, bridging the gap between technical specialists, managers, and clinical staff.
The successful candidate will work closely with the prison healthcare team and must be happy to work on-site in the healthcare wing of HM Prison Birmingham, although there is some scope for hybrid / home working once established in the role.
Main duties of the job
This role aims to ensure that colleagues in the prison healthcare team can easily record and access the information they need to support their day-to-day work and improve practice. This will involve:
1. Gaining a detailed understanding of data and reporting requirements and the SystmOne system.
2. Designing, building, and implementing data capture forms.
3. Producing documentation and reference materials and training staff.
4. Extracting, processing, and analysing data, presenting findings.
5. Developing automated self-service reporting.
6. Overseeing support, training, and data quality activities for system users.
Technology-wise, we primarily use a Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse and BI stack, so the ideal candidate will have excellent skills in SQL, Power BI, SSRS, and Excel.
