Location: Middlesbrough Police Station and Cleveland Police Central HQ, Hemlington
Applications are invited for the position of Paralegal within the Disclosure Team, Legal Services based at Middlesbrough Police Station and Cleveland Police Central HQ, Hemlington.
The post-holder is responsible for carrying out various tasks in relation to responding to requests for third party Disclosure, disclosure for family proceedings and CAFCASS. Additionally, the post holder will also process other requests for disclosure in various legal proceedings such as proceedings following Common Law Police Disclosure. You will play a vital role in assisting with the safeguarding of children, providing information to enable the Courts to make a considered decision around next steps. The role operates within a small professional legal team and the wider collaborated legal team.
You will deliver a high-quality service, have the ability to prioritise demanding workloads, applying professional judgement to make effective decisions. Knowledge of the relevant legislation and/or procedures relating to disclosure of information would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided.
Duties will include reviewing and progressing cases for legal proceedings, including family court proceedings, liaising with external agencies and colleagues force wide.
Applicants who possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of working in a busy office environment will be suited to this role. It is a varied position where you will be able to showcase your organisational and research skills, utilising various IT systems and databases.
