As a TradeChoice Warehouse Colleague & Relief Van Driver, you will:
Operate a pallet truck, forklift, counterbalance, reach truck (or other MHE) to load stores, transport pallets, rearrange stock or place heavy/large objects, as appropriate.
Ensuring products are stored safely and labelled correctly.
Ensure orders are packaged and labelled correctly to prevent returned orders.
Assist in loading/unloading with appropriate apparatus and following safety protocol.
Inspect stock for defects or damage, reporting any concerns to the shift manager.
Occasionally assisting customers at the Trade Counter.
Maintain accurate records of inventory.
Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies.
Report Health and Safety concerns immediately, following the reporting procedure.
Rely on appropriate equipment/tools for the job, following the correct system.
When covering as a Van Driver, you will:
Carrying out multi-drop deliveries in a safe and timely manner.
Ensuring the load is correct and in keeping with customers’ orders.
Checking goods-off with customers and obtaining signature and print.
Rectifying any customer concerns on delivery.
Working to the best routes within a local area, considering traffic congestion, delays and diversions in order to adhere to time and route schedules.
Driving within legal compliance, the UK Highway Code, and driving time limits.
Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle and ensuring avoidance of damage.
Complete daily inspection sheet regarding the vehicle.
This role may include other duties as reasonably required.
Your shift pattern:
Monday to Friday
8am to 5pm initially, then 6am to 3pm during FLT training
5am to 2pm when FLT qualified
30-minute break
You:
Full clean UK driving licence (required)
Delivery driving experience (desirable)
Industry knowledge and experience (desirable).
Knowledge of our competitors, and our group companies (desirable).
Basic knowledge and understand of general Health & Safety.
Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution centre.
Familiarity with goods-in and goods-out, inventory and general logistics.
Happy to carry out manual handling duties as required.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment.
Flexible attitude toward varying working hours (rotational shifts, or peak sales).
Excellent customer service skills.
First Aid Qualification (desirable).
Valid and current Fork Lift, Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck licence.
