Job overview
The Liverpool MHST team at Alder Hey is looking to recruit a permanent B7 Team Lead to join our community Mental Health Support Team.
The successful candidate will be experienced in undertaking appropriate mental health assessments of children and young people referred to MHST and provide evidence-based clinical interventions informed by assessed individual need. Further providing support, advice, and consultation to families, carers, and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake appropriate mental health assessments of children and young people referred to CAMHS, and provide a range of appropriate, evidence-based clinical interventions informed by assessed individual need. The post holder will provide support, advice, and consultation to families, carers, and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person.
Working for our organisation
Alder Hey MHST is part of the Education Mental Health Team within the Liverpool CAMHS; and North and South Sefton Partnership. MHST covers both Liverpool and Sefton and currently has links with around 200 schools. Developing and building strong relationships with schools is a priority.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Provide specialist assessments of children and young people referred to the service group
* Develop, implement, and review a range of evidence-based treatment plans informed by clinical assessment and the specific needs of the individual
* Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of children/young people
* Provide specialist advice, guidance, and consultation to other professional groups
* Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual children and young people
* Act as care coordinator, where appropriate, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of care plans
* Effectively communicate with families and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person
* Actively record all clinical outcomes.

Skills
* Must demonstrate strong organisational skills
* Skills in the use of complex methods of mental health assessment, intervention, and management
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex and clinically sensitive information
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
* Must demonstrate ability to autonomously manage own workload

Education and Training
* Qualified in core profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health Practitioner, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or creative therapies
* Post qualification study in chosen mental health field
* Pre-qualification training and qualifications in child and adolescent mental health
Experience
* Experience of specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions with children and young people
* Working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of working with a variety of child mental health problems
* Experience of teaching, training, or supervision
Knowledge
* Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
* Must demonstrate knowledge of the evidence base in their practice
* High level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised therapies/interventions
