As a Private Cloud Platform Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms Technology Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
1. Applies DevOps practices to architect, build and operate a large scale private cloud PaaS solution
2. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
3. Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
4. Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
5. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
6. Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
7. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
8. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
9. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
10. Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience
11. Hands-on experience working in Linux/Unix environments including proficiency in scripting
12. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
13. Proficient in coding in one or more languages
14. Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
15. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
16. Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
17. Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile,

18. Platform technologies such as Cloud Foundry (Open Source and VMWare/Broadcom), Kubernetes, AWS, or VCF
19. Experience with system metrics and monitoring - ideally Prometheus and Grafana
20. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
21. Exposure to cloud technologies
