About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team at our school. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with students who may require additional support to overcome behavioural challenges, ensuring they achieve their full potential in both academic and social aspects of school life.
As a Behaviour Support TA, you will be responsible for:
1. Supporting children with emotional, behavioural, or social challenges on a one-to-one or small group basis
2. Implementing tailored interventions to help students improve their behaviour and social skills
3. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create and implement individualised learning plans
4. Promoting positive behaviour, creating a safe and supportive learning environment
5. Monitoring and tracking progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
6. Encouraging students to develop their confidence, independence, and self-regulation skills
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience working with children, particularly those with additional behavioural or emotional needs (preferably within a primary school setting)
2. A calm, patient, and understanding approach to behaviour management
3. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
4. A good understanding of child development and strategies for supporting children with behavioural needs
5. A proactive, flexible, and resilient attitude, with the ability to think on your feet in challenging situations
6. Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable, but not essential
