About The Role
MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Severn Trent framework. Based in the Derby Office, you will ensure that cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are designed, approved, and handed over to the construction teams in line with programme expectations.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Produce Outline and Detailed Mechanical Designs which are cost-effective and meet the requirements of the client's specifications, and which can be purchased, installed, and commissioned effectively.
* Production and Checking of all design deliverables including Specifications, Schedules, Drawings, and Calculations.
* Ensure designs are completed in accordance with CDM Regulations.
* Ensure that standard designs and design practices are utilised wherever possible.
* Delivering the design stage outputs of each project within the agreed timescale and budget.
* Coordinating design outputs across all technical disciplines.
* Preparing monthly project status reports.
* Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.
About You
* Degree or equivalent qualification.
* Chartered or near chartered in a construction discipline as appropriate to grade. Although chartered or near chartered preferred it is not essential.
* Experience in the Water treatment Industry is desirable but not essential. Happy to consider candidates with transferable skills/experience.
* Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
