JobSummary:
The Registered Nurseholding a valid NMC Pin will be responsible for providinghighquality nursing care to residents of the nursing home. The rolerequires a professional who can maintain dignity comfort andrespect for the elderly while ensuring compliance with regulatorystandards. The Registered Nurse will oversee all aspects of careplanning and delivery including medication administration essmentsand supervision of care staff.
KeyResponsibilities:
1. ClinicalCare:
o Provide andsupervise highquality nursing care tailored to the individual needsof residents including care planning essments andreviews.
o Monitor ess and evaluate the healthand wellbeing of residents and escalate issues to medicalprofessionals where necessary.
o Ensure that careprovided is in line with current best practices and complies withnational standards and guidelines.
o Promote apersoncentred approach to care that enhances the wellbeing ofresidents respecting their choices andpreferences.
2. MedicationAdministration:
o Administerprescribed medications treatments and controlled accurately and inline with NMC standards and the nursing homespolicies.
o Ensure that medication administrationrecords (MAR) are maintained accurately andpromptly.
o Monitor residents for adverse effectsor reactions to medications and report any concerns to the GP orrelevant healthcare professionals.
o Carry outcontrolled drug audits and ensure medication storage and handlingpractices meet regulatorystandards.
3. CarePlanning:
o Developimplement and review care plans in collaboration with residentstheir families and the multidisciplinaryteam.
o Conduct regular reviews and essments ofresidents care plans ensuring that they are updated in response tochanging needs.
o Involve residents and theirfamilies in decisions about care plans to ensure that the careprovided aligns with their wishes andneeds.
4. LeadershipandSupervision:
o Provideleadership and support to care staff including Healthcare istantsand other nursing team members ensuring that care is deliveredeffectively and professionally.
o Ensure that allcare staff adhere to best practices policies andregulations.
o ist with the orientation andmentorship of newly appointed care staff and provide ongoingtraining as required.
o Act as the shift leadwhen required ensuring the smooth running of the unit and thatresident care is maintained at alltimes.
5. ComplianceandDoentation:
o Maintainaccurate and comprehensive records in accordance with NMCguidelines and the nursing homespolicies.
o Participate in audits inspections andessments to ensure compliance with CQC standards and otherregulatory requirements.
o Ensure safeguardingand health & safety policies are strictly followed identifyingand reporting any risks or incidents asnecessary.
o Uphold confidentiality and dataprotection protocols ensuring that residents personal informationis managedsecurely.
6. CommunicationandTeamwork:
o Communicateeffectively with residents families and healthcare professionalsfostering collaborative relationships to enhance residentcare.
o Liaise with GPs social workers and otherhealthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach tocare.
o Participate in team meetings reviews andcare discussions offering input on clinical decisions and residentwellbeing.
o Provide emotional support toresidents and their families addressing any concerns or questionswithsensitivity.
7. ProfessionalDevelopment:
o Maintainactive NMC registration and comply with all revalidationrequirements.
o Engage in continuous professionaldevelopment to keep uptodate with nursing practices and newhealthcare developments.
o Attend inhousetraining sessions and workshops to enhance ss and knowledgecontributing to personal and professionalgrowth.
QualificationsandSs:
* Essential:
o RegisteredNurse (Adult) with a valid NMC Pin.
o Provenexperience in a clinical or nursing homesetting.
o Strong knowledge of CQC regulationsand the NMC Code of Practice.
o Ability to managemedication administration in a safe and timelymanner.
o Excellent communication andinterpersonal ss.
o Demonstrated ability to leadsupervise and work effectively within a multidisciplinaryteam.
o Compionate patientfocused and committedto upholding residents dignity andrights.
* Desirable:
o Experiencein elderly or dementia care.
o Additionalclinical qualifications or specialisttraining.
o Experience in care plan managementandauditing.
