Responsibilities: Clinical servicesAll services should be carried out in line with practice protocols. Provide consultations to patients of the practice, in line with the practice rota, including: taking history examination investigation, including diagnostic tests diagnosis treatment, including prescribing medications referral where appropriate providing appropriate advice certification where appropriate. Provide duty doctor cover, in line with the practice rota Carry out home visits when required, in line with the practice rota. Participate in screening and chronic disease management activities. Review correspondence relating to patients. Record notes of consultations and other patient interactions in an accurate and timely fashion. Issue repeat prescriptions to patients. Provide clinical advice and support to other clinical staff. Respond to queries from administrative and reception team. Provide cover for other members of the GP team during periods of absence. Supply information for non-NHS purposes, such as insurance reports and medicals. Development and management of the practice Attend and participate in practice meetings and other team meetings as required. Participate in clinical audit and research within the practice. Contribute to the development of protocols and clinical standards within the practice. Contribute to the ongoing development of the practice, including identifying opportunities for service development. Communication requirements This job requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, to enable effective engagement with: patients and other members of the public professional colleagues staff. Written communication should be accurate, clear and easy to read. Competence and professional development This role requires the following competence and commitment to continuing professional development (CPD): membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners registration on the General Medical Councils GP register participation in annual appraisal and personal development planning.
