Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking. On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Business Analyst -(Regulatory Compliance/Data) for 6 months contract based in Edinburgh (hybrid - once in a week). Purpose of the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong focus on data analysis to join our team. This role involves regulatory work, customer data management, and collaboration with external third parties. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data quality, operational issues, process mapping, and end-to-end control. They will also possess knowledge of banking products, retail banking operations, and experience with deposit protection or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Responsibilities of the role: As a Business Analyst -(Regulatory Compliance/Data) you will be responsible for: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements related to data management and reporting, including deposit protection and FSCS. Customer Data Management: Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of customer data, ensuring data quality and integrity. External Collaboration: Work with external third parties to manage data-related projects and initiatives. Data Quality: Identify and resolve data quality issues, implementing processes to maintain high data standards. Operational Issues: Address and mitigate operational issues related to data management and analytics. Process Mapping: Design and maintain process maps to visualize and optimize data workflows. End-to-End Control: Implement and monitor controls across data processes to ensure compliance and efficiency. Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data to provide insights and support decision-making. Banking Product Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of banking products and retail banking operations to enhance data analysis. Analytical Skills: Apply analytical techniques to interpret data and generate actionable insights. Tools Utilization: Proficiently use Visio and Confluence for documentation and collaboration. What we require from the candidate: Strong understanding of data quality issues and operational challenges. Expertise in process mapping and end-to-end control implementation. In-depth knowledge of banking products, retail banking operations, and deposit protection or FSCS. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
