We offer a wide range of career opportunities at every level of the organisation. From apprenticeships to senior management, permanent to fixed term contracts or part-time working, we have something for everyone.
It’s an exciting time to join Warwick District Council’s Neighbourhood and Assets team, as we deliver on a variety of compliance projects for the Council’s housing stock and our many historic buildings. Our projects are varied and interesting and will provide you with an interesting range of risks and projects to manage.
We are looking for a Fire Safety Lead to join our experienced team on a permanent basis. Our work involves managing and addressing strategic and operational risks presented by the Council’s housing stock including several high-rise blocks. It also involves our corporate and commercial premises including many buildings in conservation areas and several which are of regional and national importance.
You will lead the fire safety agenda including updating and developing documentation, arranging Fire Risk Assessments and the remedial works and estates/housing teams actions arising. You will have autonomy to train technical, estates and housing staff to promote a positive fire safety culture across the Council. All of this is underpinned by our Big 7 Compliance Policies and Procedures. You will work with our Building Safety lead, ensuring that our buildings and tenants' homes are warm and safe, and the Regulator of Social Housing’s Quality and Safety Standards are met.
We work on an agile basis, with much of our work being delivered either on site or from home; office and hybrid working are also available. While home working is offered for this role, it is a requirement that the successful candidate be available to attend meetings at our offices within Warwick district when required.
If you have any questions or wish to have an informal discussion, please contact Phil Dark at Philip.Dark@warwick.gov.uk.
The intention is for the post holder to work predominantly from home; however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
