Procurement Assistant
Location: Compton & East Ilsley, Berkshire (own transport essential)
Salary Range: £25,000 to £29,000 per annum (DOE) plus benefits
Job Type: Full time (37.5 hours Monday-Friday)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Assistant. As a Procurement Assistant, you will identify purchase requirements, manage supplier relationships, and handle contract negotiations. You will manage the purchase order life cycle and support the manufacturing operations through the production facility, warehousing, and goods in process, as well as assist the Warehouse team with on-site and off-site storage. Additionally, you will provide operational support for the Production facility to ensure the manufacture of products is in line with scheduled production dates. This role will involve liaising and communicating with company personnel as well as external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with the team and stakeholders to ensure effective and compliant purchasing of materials and stock control throughout the facility, ensuring storage, release, and replenishment of materials in line with company SOPs and procedures within the autogenic vaccine GMP environment.
2. Raise purchase orders as requested and based on minimum stock levels.
3. Record data and assist with forecasts.
4. Ensure timely purchasing for day-to-day business use, raw materials for production, equipment, and supplies.
5. Build relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure stock is delivered on time and in full.
6. Monitor supplier performance and quality.
7. Support trade and commercial agreements with suppliers, ensuring terms are improved over time.
8. Meet compliance throughout the purchasing and procurement process.
9. Support the Warehouse and Goods In/Out with inventory management both physically and electronically within JDE.
10. Involve in key projects around reporting, data analysis, and other ad hoc objectives.
11. Ensure compliance with GMP and H&S regulatory requirements for stock storage and procurement processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience in purchasing and supplier management.
2. Experience of GMP in pharmaceutical warehouse and purchasing environment is desirable.
3. Experience with ERP or stock management IT systems.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Good time management, planning, and organizational skills.
6. Experience of working in a GMP environment would be an advantage.
