About the Role
Patience Company is on the lookout for a dedicated House Manager to lead one of our supported living services in Bristol. Our homes support between two and six residents with varying needs, such as learning disabilities and or mental health challenges. With a strong commitment to safeguarding and providing quality care, we’re looking for a House Manager who shares these values and is driven to create a safe, supportive environment that enhances residents' physical and emotional well-being. We seek someone with a desire to enhance their leadership skills, who has a passion for personalised care, and the ability to coordinate a small team of support workers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure the daily operations run smoothly, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment in the supported living service.
2. Conduct regular weekly key work sessions with residents to set and review individual goals, tailoring support to each resident’s evolving needs.
3. Maintain good working relationships with residents, their families, and the associated professionals such as social workers, nurses, community learning disability team and the community mental health teams.
4. Lead and support a small team of Support Workers, promoting a positive workplace culture, providing guidance, and overseeing supervision and skill-building sessions.
5. Supported by the Operations and Registered Managers to uphold best practices, compliance, and service improvement.
6. Support the Team Leader in creating consistent house rotas.
Essential Requirements:
1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior care giving role.
2. Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
3. Genuine commitment to improving lives through person-centred care.
4. Strong IT based skills and experience of using word, outlook, excel etc.
5. Relationship building skills with a sense of initiative and good organisational skills.
Desirable:
1. Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care (or equivalent/higher).
2. Experience with initial assessments and compatibility evaluations.
3. Valid driver’s license for travel between service locations.
