In this full-time role, you will work 37 hours a week from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM, Monday to Friday. What you will do: - Provide expert support, leadership, and guidance to social workers and social care assessors within the locality and hospital social work teams. - Oversee and support Care Act assessments, care planning, safeguarding enquiries, and Mental Capacity Act assessments. - Ensure compliance with statutory duties and promote best practices in adult social care. - Supervise and appraise social workers and assessors, cultivating a supportive and developmental environment. - Manage team operations, prioritising tasks and managing referrals effectively. - Monitor duty workers, provide advice, and manage waiting lists and service demand. - Maintain high standards of practice, ensuring alignment with legislative frameworks. - Utilise performance management systems effectively to keep the team running smoothly. - Collaborate with senior managers and partner agencies to implement service improvements. - Address complex casework issues, offering professional decision-making support. - Ensure safeguarding principles are embedded in service delivery. Essential Requirements: - A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England. - Extensive experience in adult social care services, with proven leadership experience. - Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation. - Excellent communication and organisational skills, with an ability to manage competing demands. - Experience in supervising staff and managing team performance. - Strong knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures. - Ability to build effective partnerships with colleagues and external agencies.
