Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale C: £7,383 to £7,498 pro-rata per annum (Actual) (£24,027 - £24,404 full time/full year equivalent)

Charles Darwin Primary is looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Classroom Assistant with EYFS and KS1 experience (although we will consider KS2 experience) to join our team. You will be an inspirational practitioner who is passionate about raising achievement through motivating and inspiring students, who will also contribute to the vision and values of the school.
The role involves supporting SEND children in the classroom and small group interventions to support our EYFS and KS1 children to make accelerated progress. You will also be required to teach RWI phonics to a small group. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, following the direction of the teachers as well as working under your own initiative.
The main responsibilities of this role will be:
* To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff.
* To work within the overall ethos of the Academy.
* To undertake care and learning programmes and activities to support individuals or groups of pupils, including more specialised support for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or EAL (English as an Additional Language).
* To enable access to learning for pupils and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience of working with primary children
* Experience supporting children with high needs SEND and behaviour needs
* Experience of leading interventions to support learning
* Ability to use a range of relevant technology
* Experience of teaching RWI phonics scheme would be desirable.
