As Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for flooring installation projects across residential, commercial, retail and leisure sectors.Key Responsibilities:Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and tender documents
Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for flooring projects including materials, labour, subcontractor costs, and overheads
Source and negotiate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
Conduct site visits and surveys to assess project requirements and constraints
Analyse risk and provide solutions and contingency allowances within tenders
Prepare and submit tender documentation in a timely and professional manner
Liaise with clients, main contractors, and project teams to clarify project scope and requirements
Maintain and update pricing databases, tender logs, and historical data
Support the handover process to project delivery teams following contract award
Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations in materials and labourWhat You Need to Succeed as an Estimator
Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or flooring industry
Strong understanding of different flooring types (e.g. vinyl, carpet, wood, resin, safety flooring, etc.)
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
