About the Role:
I am excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Waste Resource Management Operative on behalf of our public sector client. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about environmental sustainability and committed to maintaining a clean and safe community.
* Waste Collection: Efficiently collect domestic and commercial refuse and recyclable materials, ensuring containers are safely returned.
* Street Cleansing: Maintain cleanliness of footpaths, gutters, and public spaces through various methods including manual sweeping and pedestrian-operated sweepers.
* Litter Management: Empty litter bins, remove illegally dumped materials, and clear animal carcasses from public areas.
* Recycling Support: Assist the public at Household Recycling Centres, promote the use of recycling facilities, and ensure site cleanliness.
* Vehicle and Equipment Reporting: Communicate any mechanical or electrical faults in vehicles and maintain accurate records.
* Adverse Weather Duties: Perform alternative tasks such as gritting and snow clearance during inclement weather.
* Communication Delivery: Distribute Council communications, such as leaflets and flyers, as needed.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
* Basic Literacy: Ability to read instructions and communications.
* Valid Driving Licence: Essential for operational duties.
* Experience: Minimum of 6 months in a waste management environment.
* Skills: Flexibility, good organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and basic computer literacy.
* Health and Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety procedures, including manual handling.
* Desirable:
o 12 months of experience in waste management.
o Knowledge of traffic management and waste recycling issues.
