About the role
Shift Leader Rate of Pay: Starts from £14.28 an hour; increases to £15.41 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location and skills.
We offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with opportunities to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12). We will schedule your contracted hours within the specified availability windows, providing you with 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As a Shift Leader, you will support your team and ensure smooth operations in the store. You will help customers, oversee store operations, and strive to improve service for customers, colleagues, and communities.
You will be responsible for
* Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers.
* Supporting your colleagues in delivering daily priorities and taking regular breaks.
* Opening and closing the store, ensuring all safety decisions are made appropriately.
* Being the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries.
* Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-presented store.
* Supporting managers in coordinating seasonal, community, and charity events.
* Contributing to a positive team atmosphere that is inclusive of everyone.
* Providing exceptional customer service by putting customers first.
* Keeping the team informed about communications, changes, or updates.
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance and looking for ways to improve operations.
* Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to great service.
* Following health and safety routines and ensuring colleagues do the same.
* Recognizing and celebrating colleagues who provide great service.
