A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Electrical Architecture team for one of MBDA's new product developments, to lead the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities associated with defining the overall Missile Electrical Architecture and
managing the coherence of Electrical Interface Specifications between all of the Missile Electrical Equipment.
This role has arisen due to company-wide digital-transformation initiatives aimed at streamlining the way that Electrical Architectures are captured
and managed throughout the product life-cycles.
Therefore this role is also an excellent opportunity to influence how this new capability is implemented across the Missile Architecture function for adoption on future products.

The opportunity:
We are looking for a keen individual to take the lead with the Model Based Systems Engineering activities within the Electrical Architecture team, to ensure that the overall Missile Electrical Architecture remains coherent throughout the product development.
The role is a blend of System Engineering (requiring a broad understanding of the overall Missile design) and Electrical Architecture (understanding how electrical interfaces impact Missile performance).
On-the-job and formal training is available to support
continued development in both of these fields for individuals, meaning that this opportunity is open to individuals with either a Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering background.
Key duties of the role include:
Translating Missile-Level System Requirements to lower-level sub system (equipment / LRU) requirements for the Electrical aspects
Developing and maintaining Electrical Architecture models (MBSE).
Managing interface requirements, definitions and characteristics (ICDs)
Working within a multi-discipline team to solve system design challenges.
Managing verification testing, analysis and evidence gathering.
You will be joining a project that is ramping-up into a full development phase and therefore this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team of Electrical Architects who are passionate about turning architecture ideas into real hardware that will
provide a key capability to our customers to support the military needs of the future.
The role of the Electrical Architect is to manage the interfaces between Systems Engineering departments and the Missile Equipment suppliers, to ensure that the translation
of Missile functionality into Missile equipment results in an overall coherent Missile Architecture that meets the performance needs of our customers.
What we're looking for from you:
Have awareness of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) techniques.
Must be able to understand overall system / sub-system function and key performance drivers.
Experience of requirements capture, decomposition and management.
Have awareness / understanding of broad technical areas including electronics hardware, software, firmware, power, integration, RF, safety, & others.
Must be able to look holistically beyond the perceived functional boundaries.
Be able to understand and manage technical risks.
Understand how an overall product comes together from all stages. Ideally should have taken a product through the full Engineering life cycle.
Be a critical thinker. Be able to use Engineering principles to solve complex problems regardless of technical field.
Must be robust to define and drive technical solutions through the full life cycle.
Be a strong communicator (written, verbal, listening), be able to engage with stakeholders and translate ideas to the overall product ensuring that the architecture is fit for intended purpose.
