We're on the lookout for a dedicated Alternative Provision Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team in Eastleigh. This role is available to start ASAP or by Easter 2025, with a competitive annual salary of £17,500 to £19,500.
About the Role
In this role, you'll be a key player in supporting students who require additional help outside of mainstream education. You’ll work on the school’s behaviour provision, working with students who have been removed from their class due to behaviour. You'll collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, helping students overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential. Your day-to-day tasks will include one-on-one and small group interventions, assisting with lesson preparation, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What You'll Do
* Work with teachers to create and implement personalised learning plans.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students engage with their studies.
* Use evidence-based strategies to support students in developing their academic and practical skills.
* Promote positive behavior and model appropriate interactions.
* Assist in preparing lesson materials and classroom activities.
* Maintain detailed records of student progress and interventions.
* Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student development.
* Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of students and their families.
What We're Looking For
* Experience in a similar role or working with students with SEMH needs.
* A genuine passion for supporting students in alternative provision settings.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications or training in education are desirable.
