Description
Newsquest Media Group is one of the UK’s largest regional news publishers, with over 250 local news brands and magazines online and in print. Our content reaches 41 million users online each month and 7 million print readers weekly.
We are seeking a talented Data Analyst to join our digital product and subscriptions team, supporting our digital growth through rigorous analysis and data-led insights.
Working alongside marketers, product managers, and developers, you’ll delve into our data sets using tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and Power BI to uncover trends, monitor KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse large and complex data sets to support digital performance
* Track key performance indicators and produce clear, insightful reports.
* Identify trends and carry out deep-dive investigations.
* Assess subscriber churn and identify opportunities to increase customer lifetime value.
* Evaluate campaign effectiveness, including A/B testing where appropriate.
* Support customer journey mapping and optimisation efforts.
* Deliver insights to improve newsletter and app engagement
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of reporting and dashboards.
* Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requests across the business.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You’ll be commercially focused, detail-driven, and an excellent communicator with a strong ability to translate data into meaningful insights. A confident user of data visualisation tools and experienced in handling complex datasets, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
* 2+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within eCommerce, media, or subscription-based industries.
* Proficient in Power BI, Excel, and SQL.
* Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
* Solid understanding of databases and data structures.
* Experience with Adobe Analytics and Python is a plus.
* Familiarity with Google Analytics is advantageous
* Exceptional attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders.
* A proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented approach.
