An opportunity has arisen within the Histopathology administrative team for an experienced, well motivated and suitably qualified Medical Secretary/Clerical Officer at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust.
Working as part of a team across Pathology you will contribute to the provision and further development of the high quality diagnostic service.
The successful candidate will work closely with the other members of the administrative team to provide an efficient, effective and comprehensive administrative and secretarial support service for the Consultant Pathologists and Histopathology manager., You will work in an office based team environment using audio tape transcription and digital dictation of complex histopathology reports and correspondence.You will ensure prompt dispatch of surgical and post mortem reports, prepare meeting minutes and collate slides for multi-disciplinary team meetings.The post holder will act as a point of contact for communication with visitors and telephone enquiries from Coroners, the police and other hospitals.You will be responsible for keeping accurate records and filing of reports, tissue blocks and slides.
You should be highly motivated, a good communicator and enjoy working as part of a Pathology wide team. The department has a proven track record of staff development.
