Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £85-£100 – Competitive, based on experience
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Lichfield, catering to children aged 4–13 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is a long-term temporary position, starting on the 24th of February. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working with SEMH children and be passionate about supporting students in their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support: Assist in delivering lessons and supporting students with SEMH needs in both one-on-one and group settings.
* Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour strategies and support students in managing emotional responses.
* Emotional Support: Provide emotional and social support to students, promoting a safe and positive learning environment.
* Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and deliver tailored learning plans for students.
* Monitoring Progress: Help track students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and other relevant staff.
* Safeguarding: Ensure the well-being and safety of all students in line with school policies.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with SEMH children in an educational or support role.
* Skills: Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and the ability to apply them in real-world situations.
* Compassionate: A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with children who face emotional and behavioural challenges.
* Team Player: Able to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
* Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or youth work are desirable but not essential.
