Clinical Nurse Specialist for CAMHS Eating Disorders - we are growing our Eating Disorder offer in North East Lincs CAMHS. These are exciting times and we are looking for someone with a passion for working with Eating Disorders who can take an active lead in developing and embedding quality, evidence-based, professional care in the service. The postholder will work closely with the MDT to ensure young people receive the care and treatment they require to promote safe physical and mental health. We have an established MDT and can offer a supportive and encouraging work environment where the postholder will work collaboratively with Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Dietitian, Mental Health Practitioners and Support Workers.
Main duties of the job
The successful postholder will provide specialist advice, guidance, training, therapeutic support, and consultation as part of the multi-disciplinary team based within North East Lincs CAMHS. They will hold their own caseload and forge close working relationships with our local paediatric ward, CAMHS Inpatient Units and Local Adult Eating Disorder Services. This includes direct provision to service users using governed psychological interventions, proactive physical health care intervention and monitoring. Contributing to formulation of service users' needs and creating evidence-based plans of care. Consultation to team colleagues and external health and care professionals working with people with eating disorders, contributing to service development, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives for the support of children and young people with disordered eating.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties / Responsibilities
1. Provide a quality highly specialist service to people (and their families/carers) referred to Young Minds Matter eating disorder pathway.
2. Promote the reputation of the service and the development of the eating disorder pathway within Community CAMHS.
3. Provide highly specialist assessment and intervention for complex mental health needs and to work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise systematic governance of practice within the service.
4. Provide timely response, in line with the eating disorder access and waiting time standards, according to urgency of need.
5. Manage a defined caseload, using evidence-based/patient-centred practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
6. Act as a care coordinator for complex cases.
7. Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, providing advice to the multidisciplinary team as required.
8. Lead on the promotion of health education and health monitoring, including bloods and ECG, reviewing results and liaising with Medics where indicated in line with MEED guidance and within your scope of practice.
9. Work closely and in collaboration with our local Paediatric Ward, Local CAMHS Inpatient Unit and Local Adult eating disorder services to ensure the best possible care and outcomes are achieved for Children and Young People and that services develop in line with local picture and need.
10. Contribute to the proposal, development and implementation of policy and procedures for the eating disorder pathway.
11. Undertake audit, service evaluation and contribute to policy and service development pertaining to the requirements with service processes including demand and capacity for different types of initial assessment.
12. Attend clinical service meetings where required to represent eating disorder pathway.
13. Chair both clinical and non-clinical meetings as required.
14. Supervise junior staff and support development.
15. Organise clinical supervision and lead on service developments within your scope of practice.
16. Develop and provide training for stakeholders and other organisations.
17. Participate in all clinical governance and audit developments including post-registration education, training and continuing professional development.
18. Work in accordance with relevant childcare, health legislation and professional standards in partnership with wider children's services and to engage fully with Safeguarding, Early Help and other processes which requires working together with other agencies.
19. Proactively involve young people and families in service development including using service questionnaires to obtain structured feedback.
20. Empower Service Users and their families/carers to influence and use available services, information and skills and act as an advocate where appropriate.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Highly developed specialist knowledge - underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience of working with service users presenting with an eating disorder.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Governance principles.
Experience
* Post registration experience of working with eating disorders or within ED setting.
* Experience of delivering physical health monitoring clinics as required with regards to MEED guidance.
Qualifications
* Registered mental health nurse (RNMH) or RCN or RN with significant relevant eating disorder experience.
* Qualification or training specific to the management of eating disorders and their comorbidities.
* Mentorship or similar qualification in supporting students in practice.
