An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and confident individual to join the Business Services Leadership Team undertaking the role of Team Leader (Property) for West Division based at Maidstone/Tonbridge. The role would suit a highly motivated individual with a positive approach to support the delivery of a responsive and efficient service to customers and stakeholders.
This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to co-ordinate and supervise the day-to-day demand of the West Division property stores, undertaking audits and compliance in line with governing legislation, ensuring service level agreements are achieved, and completing basic project work. There will be the requirement to travel to other property stores county-wide on occasion.
As a customer-focused individual, you will have the ability to work under pressure and be extremely organised to manage multiple customer requirements simultaneously, setting priorities for the Property Team in addition to managing a personal workload and having a practical approach to decision-making and problem-solving. You will have experience leading on change whilst ensuring your teams are motivated.
As a Team Leader, you are expected to evaluate and mitigate risks wherever possible, completing risk assessments as required; therefore, a knowledge of Health & Safety is essential. Whilst formal risk assessment knowledge is advantageous, training and guidance will be given as required.
You will work with the Evidential Property Manager to assist in the planning and review of disposal arrangements for items of property. As a Team Leader, you will be expected to manage civil claims presented by members of the public; therefore, strong communication skills are essential.
Applicants will need to provide evidence of the following essential qualifications/skills/experience within their reasons for application:
1. IT / Office Technology – demonstrate that you can use relevant computer systems including Microsoft packages. Full training will be given for bespoke computer packages.
2. Evidence of good customer service and communication skills.
3. Evidence of supervisory experience/leading (including change)/prioritising for others.
4. Health & Safety – demonstrate an awareness and understanding of H&S.
In addition, please provide evidence of the following desirable criteria:
1. Knowledge of the property discipline.
2. Sound knowledge of Police environment and policy- including use of SAP or Service Manager.
3. Educated to A Level or equivalent.
4. Risk management experience – demonstrate the ability to evaluate risks and undertake necessary risk assessments.
