Job Description Manufacturing Services Technician - Tool maker Full Time Trentham What you will be doing: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a for a skilled Manufacturing Services Technician - Tool maker to join our team in Trentham. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing and repairing a variety of tooling, dies, machining and inspection fixtures. You will be responsible for maintaining the fixtures onsite adhering to fixture care plans and calibrating special product tooling using both first principles and CMM's. Located in production or assembly and test facilities. Responsibilities: In this role you will perform a range of routine, reactive, maintenance on dies and fixtures across a broad range of manufacturing assets and production equipment across a plant, site or business, to ensure that manufacturing equipment is safe, available and capable for use when required, you will also: Utilise precision diagnostic instruments during maintenance. Analyse equipment data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards repair, make or modification. Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required. Read and interpret machinery and component drawings, circuit/logic diagrams & schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable maintenance and diagnostics. Identify and recommend improvements to production equipment and maintenance procedures. Research and implement improvements. Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimise the electrical installation / maintenance strategy. Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment performance to standard. Work alongside/support equipment OEM engineers as required. Consistently perform asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high performance standard. Support the effective induction of new team members and support cross-training of other team members. Utilise problem solving skills and ability to make sound recommendations based on judgement, training and previous experience. Able to complete and maintain documentation and records in accordance with the company's defined products as well as support business control and audit requirements. NVQ/SVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline including completing a time-served recognised apprenticeship. Ability to use and understand hand gauges, inspection equipment and computerised measuring equipment. Ability to read engineering drawings. Experience in operating machine tools. Experience in programming machine tools. Ability to use CADCAM PLM software to design parts and create technical drawings. Basic IT literacy and ability to work to engineering drawings. Understanding of local and regional health and safety standards and regulations.
