Our Family Group Conference Service supports children to remain and return home after a period of being in our care. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practitioner to join the team who believes in supporting families in making safe decisions and plans for their children within the context of a Family Group Conference. A key and proven way of strengthening family involvement and relational ways of working to achieve best outcomes for children when families are experiencing significant problems in their lives. Main Responsibilities You will facilitate the Family Group Conference, bringing together children's support networks of family members and friends to find safe solutions including: Acting as an independent and neutral facilitator of the Family Group Conference Process. Responsibility for the preparation, planning, coordination, facilitation and review of the Family Group Conference that responds to the needs of the individual families from a diversity of backgrounds. promoting quality planning, decision making and practice for children and families. The Ideal Candidate You'll have: NVQ Level 4 or evidence of training within the delivery of Family Group Conference (by an accredited organisation) experience of delivering evidence based direct work with children, their families and carers in a statutory or voluntary agency which provides services to vulnerable children and their families. the ability to work within a complex system and find simple solutions and outcomes that deliver real change for our families. Passion and drive to support children to be safe and be able to remain within their family The ability to work as a team and autonomously and be willing to travel to meet with family members. Excellent skills in communication and understanding of family dynamics. The ability to work creatively, restoratively, to get the best out of children and their families through using relational and coaching techniques.
