Job Title: Setting Out Engineer Location: Dumfries Salary: £300- £400 per day Employment Type: Full-time, temporary Job Description: We are seeking a Setting Out Engineer to work on a new build school. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil engineering, specifically in setting out, and be proficient in using surveying equipment and software. The role will involve site-based duties, liaising with site teams, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with design and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: Accurately set out project locations, using GPS, total stations, and other relevant surveying equipment. Interpret technical drawings and ensure that construction is carried out according to plan. Provide accurate and timely information to the site team. Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Conduct site inspections to ensure quality standards are met. Keep records of work completed and materials used. Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed on-site.Key Requirements: Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, ideally with knowledge of construction techniques and practices. Must have own equipment. Proficient in using surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS, and levels. Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Full driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
