About the Role We’re looking for a Head of Risk & Compliance to lead and strengthen our risk and compliance functions, ensuring we maintain strong regulatory oversight across our lending and investment activities. This is a permanent role, based in our Glasgow office, working closely with the senior leadership team. You’ll be leading a small team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability while embedding a strong compliance mindset across the business. Your role will involve maintaining a robust risk management framework, ensuring LendInvest meets its regulatory obligations, and shaping our risk and compliance strategy in a fast-moving environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of risk management & regulatory compliance across LendInvest PLC. Act as SMF 16 and SMF 17, ensuring compliance across our regulated entities. Develop and maintain a strong compliance and risk framework, implementing robust processes to identify, assess, and manage key risks. Own the risk appetite framework, ensuring controls and metrics evolve with the business and are effectively reported to the Board. Design and implement policies, procedures, and key risk indicators that reinforce a strong control environment. Ensure compliance with AIFMD, MiFID, and mortgage lending regulations. Provide strategic compliance guidance on new ventures, financial promotions, and product development. Oversee regulatory reporting, ensuring submissions are accurate and timely. Manage customer due diligence (CDD), KYC processes, and second-tier complaint resolution. Lead compliance training and monitoring programs for employees at all levels. Prepare risk & compliance reports for senior management, the Board, and regulatory bodies. Support the business in meeting its Data Protection and GDPR obligations. Partner with leaders across the business to enhance collaboration, provide strategic advice, and drive effective risk mitigation. Keep the business informed on regulatory developments and industry best practices. What We’re Looking For Proven experience in a senior compliance role within a regulated financial services business, ideally in mortgage or asset management. Experience acting as SMF16 and SMF17. Strong knowledge of investment/asset management regulations and/or mortgage lending regulations. A deep understanding of FCA regulations, reporting requirements, and regulatory engagement. Experience as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) is a plus. Ability to embed compliance into decision-making at all levels. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Excellent relationship-building skills, fostering trust and collaboration with senior stakeholders. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to influence, engage, and inspire teams.
