We are currently recruiting for a Steam Systems / Compressed Gaseous Systems Engineer to join the amazing team at our Linford Block Plant, which is located close to Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. This role is commutable from Stevenage, Hitchin, Welwyn, Welwyn Garden City, Harpenden, Hertford, Ware, Hatfield, St Albans, Potters Bar, Waltham Cross, Waltham Abbey, Potters Bar, Borehamwood, Radlett, Epping, Chingford, Loughton, Walthamstow, Brentwood or the surrounding areas we would like to hear from you.

Role Responsibility
As our Steam Systems / Compressed Gaseous Systems Engineer, your key responsibilities will be to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pressure systems equipment and support regulatory compliance. Provide front line technical expertise on piping, vessel and heat exchanger systems in support of continued operation of the plant. You will work closely with the production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure seamless operation of systems and project engineering work.
Your responsibilities of the Steam Systems / Compressed Gaseous Systems Engineer will include (not exhaustive):
1. Implement Written Schemes of Examination, assess equipment condition and suitability for further service and report the outcome to business area to comply with legal requirements and business goals
2. Recommend repairs and advise Engineering Manager on the restoration of “fit for purpose” condition, accept repairs and assign inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business goals
3. Provide guidance on the practical application of the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), to inspection engineers, plant managers and asset engineers
4. Own and lead the implementation of a Risk Based Assessment programme for pressure systems equipment, ensuring compliance
5. Provide pressure systems technical input in support of projects and plant modifications to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirements
6. Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades or project work to pressure related systems on site
7. Conduct routine maintenance and updates to systems along with collaborating with production and engineering teams to improve system performance
8. Have a proven track record of successful people management, management of engineering operations, delivering large scale CAPEX projects and managing large budgets
9. Promoting the maintenance management system, ensuring the application of maintenance procedures, methods and best practices
10. Assisting the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts
11. Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters and apprentices by providing training and support on Pressure systems and functionalities
12. Involvement with maintaining Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with leading towards a target of zero harm for personnel and contractors
13. Continuous review of plant availability and performance, Identifying gaps, root causes and subsequent improvement activity
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant in the role of Steam Systems / Compressed Gaseous Systems Engineer will be instrumental in the future development and support of our culture to achieve the benefits available through development strategies. You will have experience working with steam generation, compressed air and associated plant ideally with manufacturing (QA and production), maintenance and operation, repair and site inspection experience.
Qualifications / Requirements / Capabilities:
14. BEng or MEng in a role related discipline, or QBE (Qualified by Experience)
15. BOAS Accreditation is preferred, but not necessary - you will be required to complete this accredited training as part of the role
16. Knowledge of / of UKCA requirements under the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (PESR) would be highly beneficial
17. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment combined with heavy industrial plant experience
18. Technical experience of preventive, predictive and systematic maintenance
