Join us as a Support Service Worker (Domestic Abuse) at Thirteen Group Role Overview: Thirteen Group is on the lookout for a Support Service Worker based at Stone Meadow House, County Durham for 33 hours per week. Stone Meadow House is safe and secure women-only supported accommodation scheme. We provide temporary emergency accommodation for women and children fleeing from or at risk of domestic abuse. As part of a team of four, you ll work on a rolling rota which covers Monday to Friday 9am 7pm and you ll be part of an out of hours emergency on call service on a rolling rota. This includes weekday nights and one weekend standby in four. Key Responsibilities: Deliver a quality support service within the refuge and strive to provide a safe environment. Work with customers to develop support plans which can include support around safety, domestic abuse recovery, housing, benefit and money management, and health and wellbeing. Help people explore what they need to be able to grow and build strength, by offering one-to-one and group work to help raise self-esteem. Work in partnership with the local DAN service and other external stakeholders. The opportunity to pick up additional hours on a relief basis, working across other schemes to gain insight into other parts of the business and create strong working relationships across teams. About You: Experience of supporting vulnerable client groups and empowering people to achieve positive outcomes. A good knowledge of safeguarding and risk management. An understanding of support plans, risk assessments, as well as safeguarding policies and procedures. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel across the region. This role involves lone working, so you ll be able to thrive in your own environment, as well as part of a team.
