This new position is a full time / permanent role.
The role
This is a varied and challenging role for an experienced yard/store man. You will be carrying out a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop and outdoor storage areas. You will also be responsible for operating and cutting material for stock and work orders.
Role Responsibilities
Loading and unloading deliveries:
Receiving and unloading deliveries from trucks, checking items against invoices, and properly storing goods in designated areas.
Inventory management:
Keeping track of stock levels in the yard, identifying any discrepancies and reporting issues to supervisors.
Forklift operation:
Operating a forklift to move heavy materials around the yard, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
Yard maintenance:
Keeping the yard clean, tidy, organised, hazard free and maintaining designated storage areas.
Waste management:
Sorting and disposing of waste materials and recycling according to company policies.
Basic equipment maintenance:
Performing a variety of maintenance and routine checks on equipment and machinery around the yard and workshops and reporting any defects.
Security checks:
Ensuring the yard is secure by monitoring access points and reporting any suspicious activity.
Compliance with safety regulations:
Adhering to all safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment while working in the yard.
Operating power saws:
Safely and proficiently operate various band saws to cut materials to precise dimensions according to work orders.Record cutting details and stock levels.
