JOB PURPOSE
Full time 37 hours.

You will be working as part of a large team to provide support to our clients who have a mental health diagnosis and complex needs. You will love helping others and enjoy supporting individuals to achieve their goals and become more independent. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. You will have your own caseload of clients to manage and will work with them on a one-to-one basis. You will identify their needs by listening to them and put together a support plan that is achievable and realistic for them.
2. You will encourage their involvement in personal progression in the form of education, training, employment activity, or volunteering.
3. You will help them develop their practical skills in areas such as health, budgeting, shopping, cooking, housework, laundry, and hygiene.
4. You will work with external partners to maximize the opportunities available to clients so that they can resettle in the community.
5. You will involve clients in the smooth running of the service.
6. You will be extremely conscientious in areas such as safeguarding and lone working.
7. You will help clients to access the benefits they are entitled to claim.
8. You will help to maintain a welcoming, safe environment, identifying and minimizing all potential risks to clients, colleagues, and visitors to the service.
9. You will provide basic first aid assistance until help arrives (full training provided).
10. You will maintain client records using relevant systems to an excellent standard.
11. You will work in accordance with health and safety regulations and all policies and procedures.
12. You will attend supervision, appraisal, training, and meetings as directed, which may be outside your normal working pattern.
13. You will work flexibly across all areas of operation where required and with prior notice given.
14. Any other reasonable task as requested by a member of staff.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR ROLE (Minimum requirements on appointment to this job)
Previous experience in this type of work is not essential, but you will have a real passion for wanting to work with homeless people. Your values will match ours; you will be committed to helping others and enjoy the real job satisfaction that this brings.
1. Clear verbal and written English.
2. Good IT and keyboard skills.
3. Polite, assertive manner, ability to self-motivate.
4. Passion for working in a client/customer-facing role.
5. Willing to assist clients in accessing the community.
6. Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation.
7. Interest and genuine concern for mental health, housing, and related issues.
8. Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies.
9. Flexibility to work shifts.
Previous experience of working with clients with complex mental health needs is desirable but not essential.
