Housing Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Housing Officer to join a team based in Doncaster on a full-time temporary ongoing basis. This role is offers Hybrid working. The Housing Officer will be responsible for providing a high quality housing management service to local residents, and support people to sustain their homes and quality of life. You will be the principle point of contact for a local area, estate or patch of residents, and ensure the conditions in the area are well maintained. This role requires in-depth knowledge of housing legislation, and experience working closely with members of the public.
Requirements
1. Previous experience working in a similar role, as a Housing Officer is essential
2. Knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedure
3. Experience of dealing with a complex casework both in person and in writing
4. Experience of providing good tenancy, housing and leasehold advice, and knowledge of best practice and compliance procedures
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and accessible manner
6. Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines
Role Expectations
7. Provide a high quality housing management service which deals with tenancy and leasehold management services within the local social housing stock
8. Provide advice for safeguarding and health and well-being on a wide range of issues including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills and the promotion of personal independence
9. Profile tenants at risk of failing tenancies and develop support plans with clear outcomes, and conduct regular reviews to increase likelihood of sustaining their home
10. Maintain effective planned schedule of visits and inspections, and identify requirements across the local area
11. Develop working relationships with colleagues, as well as key partners including statutory services, local landlords, and other housing organisations
12. Manage nuisance and anti-social behaviour case work
13. Maintain Records: Accurately record all casework in line with relevant policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and data protection guidelines are strictly followed
