We’re at the forefront of supporting the Government’s commercial efforts and work alongside legal teams advising on policy decisions and implementation. High performing, friendly and welcoming, the group is committed to collaboration, teamwork, specialist training and support.
Your role.
When you join us as a Commercial Lawyer, you’ll provide legal advice to government departments and public bodies on some of the most important and interesting matters in the country, many of which are scrutinised in Parliament and by the media. Our clients are government departments, and our work includes transactional work and procurements, contract management, subsidy control, grants and strategic advice to commercial departments, Secretaries of State and Ministers.
Whether you’re newly qualified, looking to ‘do something different,’ or returning to work after a break, we’re a supportive and collegiate place to work. If your application is successful, you’ll play an active role in your team and the wider Department and contribute to our culture of high performance and collaboration.

Capable of communicating honestly and enthusiastically, and able to explain complex issues clearly, you’ll be ready to offer a positive, customer-focused service while proactively managing any risks that arise. We’ll also look for the ability to:
* take a constructive approach to analysing and solving commercial problems.
* provide sound commercial legal judgement.
* make effective and innovation decisions.
