My client is an award-winning property services company that has a Quantity Surveyor opportunity available. They deliver planned and reactive maintenance to social housing across the area with a diverse track record and an unrivalled commitment to customer service.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be tasked to plan, control, manage, and ensure effective administration of the commercial and financial aspects of all contracts while ensuring complete compliance with the contract outlines.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be commercially astute and involved in pricing works on selected projects. You will have ownership and accountability for delivering subcontract packages to projects, ensuring the best possible value and profit is maintained during and upon closing project delivery. You should have previous experience working on commercial refurbishment or social housing projects, such as voids, re-roofing, and general refurbishment upgrades, dealing with housing associations within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and develop commercial processes and procedures and maximise returns in terms of profit.
2. Manage and reduce unnecessary costs and inefficient activities.
3. Maximise cash flow through valuations, submission of invoices, and receipt of payment.
4. Final Accounts management including variations, claims, and disputes.
5. Financial forecasting for use in setting targets and managing the business.
6. Monitoring resources and costs to ensure that the projects meet agreed targets.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. You will have experience working within the social housing sector, ideally on planned & reactive maintenance contracts.
2. Experience with cost control, BOQ, cost management, planning, and reporting.
3. You will be degree qualified or equivalent.
