Job description
Are you interested in working at the business end of Aerospace, where airline brand meets innovative passenger experience? Then your next opportunity could be with Safran Seats, an industry award winning, premium designer and manufacturer of First and Business Class seating and technology.
The purpose of this role is to manage a design team that will provide design solutions from initial concept through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities will include:
1. Responsible for the design and detail modeling of a variety of suite components in order to meet programme requirements.
2. Produce designs to meet specified cost/weight targets.
3. Design Engineers will be expected to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers.
4. Participate in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process.
5. The selection and application of materials and processes appropriate to each design element.
6. Ensure the successful integration of each design element within the product as a whole.
7. Check engineering packages.
8. Participate in the validation of the product (using such methods as prototyping, test, DFMEA).
9. Follow and contribute to the development of the Best Practice guidelines.
10. From time to time, Design Engineers must be prepared to undertake tasks outside of their normal duties as requested by their immediate supervisors.
Travel specificity
No regular travel is required with this role.
Candidate skills & requirements
1. Educated to Degree level within an Engineering capacity.
2. Experience of working within mechanical design, all industries considered.
3. Excellent problem solving skills.
4. Experience of using CAD software - CATIA V5 would be desirable but others will be considered.
5. Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
