PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Manager is responsible for assisting in the operational planning and readiness work required ahead of the York Region Mental Health Community Care Centre (the Centre) opening. The Centre will offer 24/7 access to treatment for individuals experiencing a mental health or addiction crisis. The Manager will oversee the daily operations, program planning, evaluation, and service delivery of the Centre.
DUTIES:
Program Planning & Development:
* Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of crisis intervention programs and services.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the Centre addresses community needs.
* Monitor and analyze program outcomes to ensure service effectiveness.
Operational Management:
* Oversee daily operations ensuring efficient service delivery.
* Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
* Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Collaboration & Community Engagement:
* Build partnerships with community organizations and healthcare providers.
* Advocate for mental health and addiction services in the community.
Budgeting & Resource Management:
* Develop and manage program budgets.
Crisis Intervention & Client Care:
* Ensure staff are equipped to provide crisis intervention and support.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years in mental health and addictions, with 2 years in a leadership role.
Skills:
* Strong analytical, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
Additional Requirements:
* A valid Canadian driver’s license and liability insurance.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Desk work using a computer and telephone.
* May require evening and weekend shifts.
