Are you a support worker in the Dartford area?
We have an opportunity for support workers to join our team at The Willows, our newest 23 bed care home in Dartford.
In this vital role you will be providing support to vulnerable adults who have received neuro-psychiatric diagnosis, and need some help to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Behaviours can at times be challenging due but full training will be provided to help you manage this.
Below are a few of responsibilities that you'll carry out as a Support Worker:
* Provide a full range of rehabilitation support and care, tailored to each service user
* You will be required to assess and plan, facilitating and evaluating the service users care programme and reviews, so admin tasks will be involved in this role
* Assessment of risks which need to be managed and reduced to the best of your abilities
* Its important that we support the service users to develop and maintain friendships along with others (including relatives)
* Monitoring of health and behaviour of service users. Making sure to report any changes to the shift co-ordinator or the service manager
* Support the service users in the undertaking of household tasks as appropriate to the individual
* Supervise and administer medication in accordance with service policy

* Patience, a very much required necessity for this role. Our service users often start from low capabilities and may make slow and limited progress. So, if you have patience in bundles then we want you!
* Passion and Commitment: Our service users truly benefit from a stable and supportive passionate caring team
* Professionalism: As much as everything above is important, there will be times where you need to be able to stay calm, show self-control and authority under pressure. You will be dealing with Service Users that occasionally can become very challenging. The main thing to keep in mind is to treat our service users the way you would want to be treated
* Caring and willingness to take on issues, for example sometimes Service Users will need your help with cleanliness issues and personal care
* Being a supportive team player! In our team were all about supporting each other, and to be there to give back-up in tight knit working groups
