Data Program Manager (Pricing)
JOB OVERVIEW
Work as part of the Transformation team across commercial and technical areas, providing consolidated, granular, accurate data for the purposes of analytics, data science and business reporting.
This role encompasses project management and governance over both evolution of existing and new data engineering and science driven developments. The role plays a key part across all Transformation activities in the team ensuring all change is appropriately managed with robust governance support to all peers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Lead cross-functional collaboration within the Transformation team and across other departments (Underwriting, IT, Sales, Product, etc.), effectively influencing stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive project success.
• Translate business needs into actionable plans by partnering with technical SMEs to develop and refine requirements for data, analytics, and reporting initiatives, providing comprehensive oversight of the delivery.
• Design and implement the operating model for a new Underwriting Data Warehouse, ensuring it delivers a state-of-the-art data solution tailored to Underwriting needs.
• Establish data warehouse acceptance criteria, including defining key performance indicators (KPIs) for user acceptance testing (UAT) and ongoing maintenance to uphold high-quality standards.
• Drive data governance efforts by implementing robust controls, quality assurance measures, and governance frameworks, ensuring data remains accurate, complete, and suitable for Underwriting decision-making.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams working on the Underwriting Data Warehouse, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and best practices.
• Develop and manage UAT testing plans, overseeing the review and testing of deliverables, while ensuring proper documentation and business sign-off.
• Lead TPA data management initiatives, reviewing, scoping, defining, and building future-state processes to support the new Iris Underwriting Data Warehouse.
• Coordinate multiple data projects of varying complexity, leveraging established methods, processes, and tools to meet deadlines, optimize resources, and achieve intended outcomes.
• Lead project resources, offering day-to-day operational guidance, defining performance targets, providing feedback, and acting as a coach/mentor to support team development and growth.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, proactively clarifying expectations and requirements to ensure seamless communication and successful project delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this position you will need to have the following skills/ experience:
• Experience of Data Programs within the Insurance sector (could be a Program manager wanting to down a technical data route or a technical data leader wanting to go down a Program management route)
• International experience leading technical data programs in insurance underwriting desirable
• Process efficiency and project management experience required
• Proficiency and ability to lead coding heavy projects and ability to oversee and deliver technical solutions desirable
• Desirable to hold a higher education degree or appropriate professional qualification
• High attention to detail including a commitment to accuracy of work.
• Works with little guidance and direction and performs majority of tasks independently
• Can lead a variety of tasks in non-standardized work situations. Solves problems based on practice and precedent and the analysis of factual information
• Understands how the department interacts with stakeholders and uses tact and diplomacy to exchange complex information with a diverse audience
