About The Role
Pets at Home have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll candidate to join us as a Payroll Project Support, working alongside the Payroll Project team.
As a Payroll Project Support, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of payroll projects, with a primary focus on testing all payroll systems (SAP).
The role will change from week to week, depending on the testing that needs to be carried out, and the projects you’ll be working on, however as the role does sit within the Payroll team you will be required to support the wider Payroll and Pensions team too.
Working as Payroll Project Support you should possess the flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the team and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough testing of all payroll systems, identifying defects and implementing resolutions/enhancements.
* Develop and execute test scripts, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
* Track project requirements and milestones.
* Provide support to the Payroll Project Team in testing and project administration.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Reward Team, People Services, Group IT, etc.
* Deliver training and support to the payroll team and wider business for system and process changes.
About You - What you'll bring to the role
* 3 years+ working in Payroll
* Pension knowledge desirable
* In-depth understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements, providing guidance on their impact on systems and processes.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and intelligently use data.
* Exceptional organisational skills and a commitment to high levels of accuracy.
* Strong IT skills and an excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel (e.g., vlookups, macros, validation, conditional formatting).
* Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
* Positive, forward-thinking attitude.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to handle confidential information in adherence to GDPR legislation.
* Team player with a sense of ownership and pride in performance.

* Some travel may be required in the fulfilment of responsibilities, including visits to locations to our Stafford DC
