Job Description
A senior business development professional will manage, develop and maintain a pipeline of high value new business opportunities to deliver profitable growth for the Specialist Services division. The role involves tailoring and developing total waste management solutions for the UK manufacturing sector. Key responsibilities include proposing strategic solutions for continuous improvement, cost saving, best practice and environmental sustainability. Additional duties include effective pipeline and CRM management, creating and presenting tailored commercial offerings, and actively managing the end-to-end sales process.

* Working closely with existing operational and account management teams to deliver the ideal solution for the client at agreed profit levels for Biffa.
Requirements include sales and development experience with 3 years or more experience in a comparable field-based business development role. The ideal candidate should have agile, solutions focused development skills, experience of developing, managing and implementing new business services, and waste industry knowledge including relevant laws. Proven track record in sales, selling high value contracted services, presentation, selling, negotiating and influential skills are also required. Additionally, the candidate should be analytical, able to work effectively across operations, marketing, bid team support, and have experience of building and maintaining customer relationships. Determined and pragmatic approach to delivering to tight deadlines and targets, and ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision, and play well with others are also essential.
