Based out of Grimsby this role will play a key part in supporting our operations nationwide. About the Role: Reporting into the Engineering Team Leader, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for working alongside a team of six engineers. The role will be expected to carry out breakdown and PPM repairs to all factory process plant and services to suit production needs as required. It will act as part of a pro-active maintenance team with responsibility for reactive and planned maintenance. About the role We’re looking for a proactive, team-oriented engineer to join our team and provide a high level of engineering support to the wider business. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, your key responsibilities will include: Undertaking planned maintenance work and responding to breakdowns and other faults across a busy, fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Proactively looking for new, improved ways of working and proposing corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Supporting other team members and working closely with teams in production to minimise downtime and improve engineering reliability. Promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring all work is carried out in line with H&S guidelines. About you: Time served electrician or mechanical engineer from a multi skilled environment. Ideally within Food Manufacturing. Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering techniques, knowledge of fresh packaging, refrigeration, and labelling technology. Improvising ability under breakdown conditions and product development situations and be aware of the relevant regulations. Knowledge of process control systems and industrial electronics. Knowledge of site services, CIP, refrigeration, steam boilers, water and effluent monitoring Ideally HNC qualified Experience of working in planned/reactive maintenance roles. Strong interpersonal skills: a team player who is prepared to support fellow engineers and can also develop good relationships with colleagues in departments across the business. Able to prioritise a busy workload and work well under pressure. Health & Safety focused.
