What you'll be doing The Registered Manager will lead and manage the respite service through a planned transformation programme, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for individuals with learning disabilities. You will be responsible for maintaining the continuity and consistency of care, ensuring that all activities comply with regulatory and statutory requirements. The role requires strong leadership skills to inspire and manage a dedicated team, and to uphold the highest standards of care and support. With excellent people management skills you will lead a team of 5 direct reports and 13 indirect reports. About the role This is an exciting opportunity to be work alongside a dedicated transformation team to enhance the respite provision across Cornwall. You will have excellent knowledge of the Safeguarding process and CQC’s fundamental standards along with relevant statutory guidance and legislation in place. You will be driven and motivated to achieve the expected high standards. Acting as a solid role model and mentoring your staff team to improve and deliver enhanced outcomes to the lives of people we support. You will have solid working knowledge of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation. You will be responsible for the service audits and report to the Senior Leadership Team on KPI’s. You will link in with various partners and stakeholders across Cornwall to enhance the person centred outcomes for the people we support. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards, ensuring the service meets all regulatory requirements. Ensure all necessary documentation, policies, and procedures are maintained and reviewed regularly. Service Development: Identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation including the offer of TEC (Technology Enabled Care), ensuring the service remains responsive to the needs of supported people. Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to continually improve service delivery and outcomes. Service Growth - identify areas of potential growth with a view to increasing the offer and value to the people that use the service. Work closely with other divisions of Corserv Care (Day Opportunities, STEPS, Care and Support and TEC). To lead the service on all aspects of planned transformation. Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of the service, ensuring budgets are adhered to and resources are used effectively. Ensure that financial records are maintained accurately and are compliant with organisational and regulatory requirements. Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for both customers and staff, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards. Accountabilities. To be the Registered Care Quality Commission (CQC) Manager for regulated activities within the service and ensure full compliance of the service with CQC Regulations and statutory legislation and supply required data to CQC when requested to participate in CQC Inspection of the service. To be the Mental capacity assessor (MCA) for the service and undertake Assessments, best interest meetings and formally process community DOL applications as needed using appropriate systems. To implement quality assurance frameworks to ensure the service provided maintains the Corserv Care, Cornwall Council and CQC fundamental standards of care. You will need The following qualifications and experience are essential: Health and/or Social Care Level 5 qualification or equivalent level of experience equivalent management qualification Leadership and Management qualification Experience of budget and financial management Extensive experience in management position either directly related to respite services or ability to demonstrate transferable skills and learning from other settings Evidence and proven track record of achieving cultural and behaviour changes within teams Evidence of continuous professional development at a Managerial level Ability to demonstrate a history of service improvements. Knowledge & Skills Demonstrable and up to date knowledge of the social care sector and the social care regulatory framework Ability to self-assess service provision, identifying gaps and risk, formulating, monitoring and review action plans Experience of leading a team through change to empower a team Good interpersonal skills with an understanding of how to motivate and support team members. Experience of formulating and managing a budget within targets, promoting financial discipline throughout operations Proven track record of meeting KPI’s Experienced in conducting Investigations and HR processes. Experience of service review and development, including Audits, KPI’s, PAMMS (QA) & CQC. You will be person focussed and passionate about supporting and enabling people to achieve their goals. Ability to promote the service and build and maintain positive relationships with supported people and key stakeholders through excellent customer service and positive communication Excellent communication skills Good IT skills and ability to learn new software. Experience of resource management Ability to use own initiative and organise workloads of self and other team members effectively Ability to work collaboratively to support the continued development and management of a fast-paced service. Working knowledge of Mental Capacity and deprivation of liberty Safeguards Working knowledge of Safeguarding agenda Effective report writing skills Demonstrate effective communication skills Effective IT skills with a willingness to embrace digital development within the service Driving licence, with own transport and must be willing to travel to meetings/training Responsible for Health and Safety within area of work.
