About the role
The Land Management Officer - Hill Country will work with local farmers to promote sustainable land management, providing advisory services and implementing environmental programmes. You will be supported by the Hill Country Team Leader and the wider Land Services team.
Requirements include studying in natural resource management, forestry, soil conservation, agriculture, or a related field, and enjoying sharing knowledge to achieve positive environmental outcomes. You should be a strong communicator, versatile, and resourceful.
Preferred skills and qualities:
* Ability to foster understanding of sustainable land use
* Practical knowledge of rural activities for rapport building
* Organisational skills for prioritising and planning
* Good health and fitness for outdoor work
* Experience with All Terrain Vehicles or Light Utility Vehicles
* Digital skills in Microsoft Office and GIS
* Understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991 and/or National Policy Statement for Freshwater 2020

The starting salary range is $75,668 - $89,021 per year (including KiwiSaver).
