Maven Capital Partners, a subsidiary of Mattioli Woods, is looking for a Portfolio Manager to join our Bristol team. This role will report directly to the Investment Partner responsible for the region.
The key purpose of this role is to drive value creation within the private company investment portfolio by providing strategic support and guidance to investee company management teams with the overall aim of increasing shareholder value and realising successful exits. monitoring growth and cash requirements against plan, challenging strategy, supporting the delivery of value creation plans and utilising professional network contacts where appropriate, with the overall aim of increasing shareholder value. Whilst Maven is a generalist investor, the portfolio will include a number of software and technology related businesses.
Hands-on support to portfolio companies requiring direct input and guidance to address specific business opportunities and challenges, including new products and new markets, cost base optimisation, M&A support for bolt-on acquisitions, new business initiatives and implementation of successful exit strategies.
Provide robust and insightful monthly/quarterly updates and reviews of individual and consolidated investee company performance within the portfolio.
Prepare papers for the Maven investment committee for follow-on funding or amendments to the investment terms.
Attendance of local business networking events to raise Maven’s profile with potential investees and investment intermediaries.

No less than 10 years’ relevant work experience.
Previous experience in a senior financial and commercial management role in one or more businesses backed by an institutional investor, or of managing a portfolio of SME investments ideally in PE/VC or high growth environment.
Demonstrable track record of operating as a business partner to achieve profitable business growth (e.g. turnaround, restructure, M&A or organic expansion).
CCAB or investment qualification preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of corporate finance transactions (equity and debt funding).
A proactive approach and ability to multi-task and work to deadlines with minimum of supervision.
Exhibit ability to solve problems with commercial acumen.
Strong financial modelling and written communication skills.
