Trusts and Tax Paralegal / Executive – Buckles
Buckles Solicitors are looking for several roles including this which can be based in their office on Station Road, Impington.
The Trusts and Tax Paralegal / Executive will be an integral part of the Trusts team, delivering on agreed cases, thinking about new opportunities, and supporting the overall profile of the Trusts team and the Private Client department. This role involves collaboration with the Trusts Manager in progressing the team’s caseload, which includes routine trust administration work.
Common duties include:
1. Drafting and updating trust accounts using Microsoft Excel;
2. Completing and submitting straightforward tax returns to HMRC and paying any Income Tax;
3. Calculating, reporting, and paying Capital Gains Tax to HMRC;
4. Calculating, reporting, and paying anniversary and exit charges to HMRC;
5. Maintaining and adhering to the key dates calendar;
6. Registering and updating trusts using the Trust Registration Service;
7. Drafting routine trust deeds;
8. Making trust payments to beneficiaries and third parties;
9. Assisting with the investment of trust assets;
10. Liaising with Trustees to seek their instructions and preparing Trust minutes.
The Paralegal role will provide supervised support to the Trusts team, whereas the successful candidate who would be considered for the Trust & Tax Executive role will be able to manage their own trust caseload autonomously, with the ability to identify what is required to progress the matter and to have the knowledge, technical ability, and experience to do it with little input and direction from the supervising colleague.
