At The Ringsmiths we run a variety of jewellery making workshops showcasing different techniques and processes. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our workshops are informative, educational and fun.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and talented jewellery teacher to work as part of our team, teaching and hosting our workshops. The role will be to deliver high quality jewellery experiences suitable for beginners.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is dynamic, has a passion for jewellery, is confident and wants to further their career alongside our fast growing company. Hosting is an important part of this role and we are looking for someone who is able to deliver fantastic customer service, has excellent communication skills and is a team player with an abundance of enthusiasm.
The day-to-day purpose of the role will be to assist workshop users by providing technical advice, instruction, and demonstrations across a wide range of techniques, materials, and processes. You will also ensure the safe operation of the workshop, maintain equipment, organise material inventory, and promote good housekeeping practices.
Our workshops run 5 days a week Wednesday - Sunday 10am-6pm and you will be required to teach two sessions per day. The remaining time will be spent working on the bench and administration.

Teaching
Deliver engaging and comprehensive learning experiences in jewellery making, covering a range of jewellery making techniques.
Learner Support
Provide support and guidance to learners of varying abilities, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Provide constructive feedback on learners' progress and ensure that learners achieve their goals.
Candidate Specification
1. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and reliable individual who has the following, essential credentials:
2. A relevant degree, equivalent qualification, substantial experience, or transferable professional knowledge relating to the discipline of jewellery design and making.
3. Hands-on experience of working with materials and processes pertinent to jewellery design.
4. Competencies in the following workshop disciplines: varied wax carving techniques, bench-work, casting, metal shaping, forming and soldering.
5. A working knowledge of H&S as appropriate to the working environment and jewellery industry.
6. Capable of conveying (or passing on) technical knowledge and general information to a broad range of guests (learners) in our workshops.
7. Experience of working as part of a close-knit team and an understanding of the importance of working with other external teams or individuals to achieve both long-and short-term objectives.
8. Experience of working in an educational environment or for a reputable jewellery designer/maker.
9. A commitment to both personal and professional development.
10. An awareness and appreciation of the need for high levels of customer care and a flexible attitude to supporting the development of new ideas, technologies, and processes.
