What you'll be doing This is a rewarding role working in the local community supporting older people from different backgrounds. This is an opportunity to work within the local community to help people re-connect with where they live and to positively impact on health loneliness and isolation. The Housing Support worker will be working 1-2-1 with customers to support with a variety of tasks and promote independence within their home. The tasks will include, but not only: Reduction in social isolation Support with physical and mental well-being Ensuring relevant benefits are in place. Support to get to medical appointments. Liaise with care agencies and social workers. (this role does not include any personal care) The Housing Support worker will be required to accurately record all customer interactions on our bespoke IT system. More about you This role can be challenging at times as you will be working with and supporting customers from all walks of life; an attention to detail, using your initiative and problem solving will be key. You’ll have a passion for working with older people, great people skills and enjoy helping to set up groups as well as working on a one-to-one basis. You will need to be able to be IT literate proficient at MS Word and MS Excel. Key attributes of our Support Worker’s when working with our sheltered customers are: Kindness Caring Empathy Commitment Resilience You’ll be flexible and able to switch between 1-1 work and group events, as well as willing to work in our different locations in and around B&NES. It is mandatory for the Housing Support Worker to use their own vehicle every day. A full driving license and the ability to travel around the B&NES area is essential. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check is required for this role, Curo will arrange. This is a customer facing role, you will be working 37 hours a week between Monday and Friday between 8am - 5.15pm, based on our customers’ needs. You will be responsible for organising your own workload and setting your diary appointments. You’ll be based in office in Park House, Hiscocks Drive, Bath, BA2 3TN.
